Kathmandu: Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens, Shradha Shrestha, received a courtesy visit from Dean Thompson and a team from the US Embassy in Nepal.
During the meeting, discussions focused on human trafficking, with the Embassy expressing its concerns on the issue. Minister Shrestha shared the Ministry’s preparedness and ongoing initiatives to combat human trafficking, noting recent progress and expressing hope that Nepal will soon be removed from the watchlist countries.
The US Embassy also committed to full cooperation for the upcoming elections, particularly in promoting voter awareness among women, senior citizens and persons with disabilities, with the aim of making the electoral process more inclusive, fair and independent.
