US Embassy Nepal, Alumni Partners Hold AI for Startups Bootcamps

Kathmandu: US Embassy Nepal and alumni partners held successful AI for Startups Bootcamps in Pokhara, Biratnagar, and Kathmandu, bringing together more than 20 Nepali startups to learn how to leverage US-developed AI technologies to drive business growth, innovation, and competitiveness. All the Bootcamps enjoyed support from the Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund (AEIF) of U.S. Embassy Nepal.

Led by U.S. government exchange alumni Rajina Shrestha and Aayush Shrestha, the Kathmandu AI for Startups Bootcamp featured speakers and mentors from some of Nepal’s leading AI and digital innovation organizations.

Spokesperson Frank Sellin delivered remarks highlighting the role of American innovation, entrepreneurship, and exchange alumni networks in strengthening Nepal’s startup ecosystem. As part of the Freedom 250 initiative, the program showcased the United States’ legacy of innovation, entrepreneurship, and free enterprise while strengthening future-focused ties between the United States and Nepal.

Through hands-on training and mentorship, participants gained practical experience with US-origin AI tools, business strategies, and innovation-driven approaches to help scale their ventures and compete in a rapidly evolving digital economy. Also, by reaching three emerging hubs of Nepal for technology and entrepreneurship, the program strengthened connections between Nepal’s startup community and American technology, innovation, and business expertise.
