WFP Launches New Partnership with India to Strengthen Fortified Rice Supply Chain in Nepal

Kathmandu: The World Food Programme (WFP) launched a new partnership with India under South-South and Triangular Cooperation to strengthen Nepal’s fortified rice supply chain on December 15.

The initiative aims to address nutrition gaps while building national capacity for food security and nutrition. According to WFP, the collaboration will support programmes such as school meals and social safety nets, as well as improve food systems and market access for smallholder farmers.

The partnership brings together the Government, WFP, the private sector, development partners and financial institutions to improve nutrition outcomes for vulnerable populations, particularly in remote areas of Nepal.
