WHO Provided Trauma Kits to Key Hospitals During Ongoing Unrest in Nepal

Kathmandu: The World Health Organisation (WHO) in Nepal has supplied 35 trauma kits to Civil Hospital and the National Trauma Centre, the two key health facilities in the capital city Kathmandu, to support Nepal during the recent unrest.

The portable trauma bags are equipped with life-saving medical tools, including airway devices to help patients breathe, IV fluids and injections to prevent shock, bandages and dressings to control bleeding, surgical instruments for emergency procedures, and protective equipment for health workers. Designed for rapid response, the kits will enable frontline doctors and nurses to stabilise and treat patients suffering from trauma injuries.

By reaffirming its commitment to work closely with the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) to strengthen emergency preparedness, the WHO stated that it aims to enable health professionals to stabilise and treat trauma patients effectively during emergencies.

Moreover, the organisation also emphasised its support for Nepal’s national and local health initiatives while urging collective efforts to safeguard peace and guarantee uninterrupted access to vital health services.
