Kathmandu: United Nations Resident Coordinator, Lila Pieters Yahia, and FAO Nepal Representative, jointly held a meeting with the Hon. Minister for Agriculture, Forests, and Agriculture, Gita Chaudhary.
Marking International Year of Women Farmers, RC Yahia presented organic fertilizer produced by women entrepreneurs, supported by FAO Nepal, to the Minister. The UN stated that at a time when global supply chains remain vulnerable to disruption, the initiative highlights how local production can contribute to sustainable food systems while creating opportunities for women-led enterprises.
Representative Ken, alongside RC Yahia, discussed initiatives to promote local production of biofertilizers in strengthening women-led stronger food systems.
