Kathmandu: Ambassador Lok bahadur Thapa spoke at the UN Security Council Arria-Formula meeting on “Bridging the Implementation Gap: Security Council Resolutions and the Maintenance of International Peace and Security,” jointly convened by China and Pakistan. Ambassador Thapa highlighted the obligation of all Member States to implement Security Council decisions in good faith.
Reaffirming Nepal’s steadfast support for multilateralism, Ambassador Thapa called on member states to bridge the implementation gap through stronger cooperation, sustained political will, adequate resources, and unwavering adherence to the UN Charter, in order to strengthen trust in multilateral institutions and enhance the effectiveness of collective action for peace and security.
