Kathmandu: Ambassador of Bangladesh to Nepal, Md. Shafiqur Rahman, welcomed the Bangladesh Women’s National Cricket Team at the Embassy of Bangladesh in Kathmandu on 26 January.
During a brief ceremony held at the Embassy premises, Ambassador Rahman congratulated the players for their dedication, teamwork, and continued success, including their strong performance in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier. He also commended the coaches and management for their support and hard work, and wished the team success in their upcoming matches.
Following the programme, the players, coaches, and team management joined a lunch hosted by the Embassy.
The Bangladesh Women’s National Cricket Team is currently in Kathmandu to participate in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier. The team has so far played two warm-up matches and four qualifier matches, winning all six encounters. They are scheduled to play three more matches in the tournament.
Earlier, officials of the Embassy of Bangladesh received the team at Tribhuvan International Airport on 12 January 2026.
