Kathmandu: Hon. Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal held a bilateral meeting with H.E. Iruthisham Adam, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives, on the margins of the 81st Session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA81).
Minister Khanal expressed sincere appreciation to the Government and people of the Maldives for their sympathy, solidarity and humanitarian assistance following the recent devastating floods in Nepal.
During the discussions, the two Ministers shared their views on bilateral, regional and multilateral issues. They discussed ways to further strengthen bilateral cooperation, including through exchange of high-level visits and cooperation in tourism, employment, and education.
The two Ministers also underlined the importance of working together on climate change, financing for development, sustainable development and other issues of common interest, including at the UN, SAARC and other multilateral forums.
