Nepal Participates at ECOSOC OAS Session 

Kathmandu: Nepal participated at ECOSOC OAS Session. Gyan bahadur Magar, Deputy Permanent Representative of Nepal to the UN, delivered on behalf of remarks of LDC group. 

He stressed the urgent need to accelerate DPOA implementation and progress on SDGs through strengthened coordination, monitoring and accountability across the UN system. DPR Magar emphasized the imperative of UNDS reforms and RC system at a time when LDCs are at risk of losing hard-won development gains amidst converging global crises.

He further called for sustainable financing for productive capacity development, climate resilience, digital transformation, sustainable graduation and well-resourced UN mechanisms for LDCs.  

At a panel discussion on leveraging Means of Implementation: Data, Innovation and Financing for SDGs, DPR Magar emphasized strengthening UNDS to support country-led  INFF; aligning seville commitment with national development priorities; forging stronger partnerships between UNDS and IFIs; Financing SDGs localization; and closing digital, data divide.
