Kathmandu: The senior officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) Nepal and the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) undertook a knowledge exchange visit to Europe to learn from global best practices and build strategic partnerships.
Organized under the EU-funded SUPER-II project, led by UNDP in consortium with UNICEF Nepal, UN Women Nepal, and Handicap International, the visit provided opportunities to engage with key European institutions including DG ECHO, DG CLIMA, DG INTPA, the Emergency Response Coordination Centre (ERCC) in Brussels, and UNDRR in Bonn.
Discussions focused on strengthening Nepal’s Fund for Responding to Loss and Damage (FRLD), enhancing emergency coordination and information management systems, advancing climate risk assessments, and improving Sendai Framework reporting.
The insights and partnerships fostered through this exchange supported by European Union and DG ECHO will help strengthen the operational capacity of NDRRMA and Emergency Operations Centres, contributing to a safer and more resilient Nepal.
