Kathmandu: The UN Assistant Secretary General and UN Women Deputy Executive Director, Nyaradzayi Gumbonzvanda, officially concluded her five-day visit to Nepal leaving behind renewed energy, meaningful conversations, and stronger partnerships for gender equality.
As the visit concluded, she spent a special day with the UN Women Nepal team, sharing thoughtful reflections, honest dialogue, laughter, and moments of connection. The day also featured a vibrant cultural session celebrating Nepal’s rich diversity and communities in an engaging and joyful way.
A wellness session with singing bowls created space for reflection and well-being, something UN Women Nepal continues to prioritize, in line with the Nepal Government’s growing focus on wellness and mental well-being in its national priorities, as well as the UN’s official commitment to workplace mental health, wellness, and duty of care through its system-wide resolutions and policies.
Throughout the visit, discussions with government leaders, women’s rights organizations, youth advocates, development partners, and communities reinforced both the progress made and the urgent work that still lies ahead for all women and girls.
