Kathmandu: The German Embassy in Nepal has clarified its statement regarding the news published regarding the purchase of passports.
Through the social media, Facebook, the Embassy made it clear in this regard that Nepali Acting Ambassador in Germany was invited to attend the meeting that was held at the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany but was not called.
The Embassy also clarified that no protest letter or any other document was handed over. The Embassy noted that no warning was given about the possible consequences based on the outcome of the case process.
“Germany fully respects the independence of the judiciary. In fact, this principle is guaranteed in our constitution. In principle, the embassy does not comment on cases pending in court and has not commented on this case at any stage”, the Embassy noted.
