Kathmandu: The Provincial Health Directorate of Madhesh Province and UNFPA Nepal recently convened top regional leadership to review the new provincial Mental Health Strategy and launch the Mental Health Support Programme (MHSP).
This strategic session united Honorable Health Minister Mr. Nagendra Sah, Province Health Secretary Dr. Pramod Kumar Yadav, and PHD Director Mr. Saroj Chandra Neupane, alongside provincial health chiefs.
A joint initiative of UNICEF Nepal, UNFPA Nepal, and World Health Organization Nepal, supported by SDC, the MHSP operates across Madhesh, Lumbini, and Karnali Provinces. By strengthening referral pathways and connecting community-based services with specialized support, the programme ensures that women, youth, and vulnerable groups can fully realize their right to mental health care.
