Saudi Arabia Donates 25 Tonnes of Dates to Nepal Under Humanitarian Initiative

Kathmandu: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief centre (KSrelief) has donated 25 tonnes of Saudi dates to Nepal as part of its ongoing humanitarian assistance programme aimed at supporting vulnerable communities across the country.

The official handover ceremony was held on Monday at the Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Kupondole, Lalitpur. During the programme, Saudi Ambassador to Nepal Fahd Mnikhr and Chhabilal Poudel, Undersecretary at Nepal’s Ministry of Home Affairs, signed the handover documents on behalf of their respective sides.

According to the embassy, the donated dates will be distributed to orphanages, Muslim organisations, universities, and various community institutions throughout Nepal.

Speaking at the event, Ambassador Mnikhr expressed gratitude to the Government of Nepal for its effective coordination and facilitation in ensuring the smooth completion of the handover process. He also extended appreciation to Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Mohammed bin Salman for their continued commitment to global humanitarian and relief efforts.

The ambassador further expressed confidence that humanitarian cooperation would continue to strengthen the longstanding and cordial relations between Nepal and Saudi Arabia.

The programme was also attended by KSrelief representative Abdul Majeed, along with officials from both sides.
