Kathmandu: Megan Bouldin, Chargé d’Affaires, a.i at the US Embassy in Kathmandu, and FBI Assistant Law Enforcement Attaché Riley Palmertree met with Nepal Police officials in Nuwakot on September 18 to thank them for their ongoing coordination in the search for missing Americans.
The FBI continues to work alongside Nepal Police to support disaster victim identification and provide specialized humanitarian expertise, helping authorities identify victims and provide answers to American families and all others awaiting news of their loved ones, the US embassy in Kathmandu said.
CDA Bouldin also visited a displacement center and a humanitarian assistance logistics hub supporting flood-affected communities, where U.S. assistance through the World Food Programme and Catholic Relief Services is helping provide food, shelter, psychosocial support, and emergency relief.
To date, the United States has provided more than $5 million in support for Nepal’s flood response, including humanitarian relief, disaster-response equipment, logistics, forensic expertise, and other assistance.
