Kathmandu: Building on years of community-driven progress and entering the final phase of implementation, FAO Nepal held the 8th FFF Advisory Committee Meeting which brought partners together to reflect on achievements, assess emerging results, and shape the path forward for resilient landscapes and improved livelihoods in Nepal.
Speaking at the event, Arun GC, Assistant FAO Representative (Programme) and Officer-in-Charge of FAO Nepal, acknowledged the strong results achieved through collaboration among the Government of Nepal, FAO, FECOFUN and other partners. He emphasized the importance of scaling successful models, strengthening access to finance and markets for small-scale enterprises, and fostering partnerships that contribute to FAO’s Four Betters while leaving no one behind.
Hari Bahadur KC, Joint Secretary at the MoAFE, highlighted the importance of local enterprise development and the potential of eco-tourism, agro-tourism and wellness tourism to create new market opportunities. Dr. Rajendra KC, former Director General of the Forest Research and Training Centre, stressed the need to institutionalize project learning and scale up proven practices for wider impact. Deepa Oli, Under Secretary at the MoAFE, welcomed the strong ownership of project interventions by provincial and local stakeholders and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to institutionalizing project results.
